In a previous campaign speech, Trump suggested that schools are secretly performing surgeries on children, invoking exaggerated scenarios that play on the fears of parents. “Can you imagine … your son leaves the house and you say: ‘Jimmy, I love you so much. Go have a good day in school,’ and your son comes back with a brutal operation?” he asked, framing the issue in a dramatic light.
