In a significant shift aimed at streamlining operations, Uber announced plans to reduce its workforce by 10%, equating to approximately 3,300 jobs.
The company’s CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi, informed employees that this restructuring is intended to foster a “simpler and faster” organizational structure by eliminating excess management layers and integrating various teams. Additionally, Uber is expected to encourage more staff to return to in-office work.
This decision comes amidst ongoing challenges for the ride-hailing giant, including a class action lawsuit launched by drivers in Europe over concerns regarding the company’s AI algorithms.
