Celebrity Lookalikes Explore Identity in DEEPFAKE Photo Series

For two decades, Cybele Malinowski has been capturing the essence of contemporary culture through her lens. Her latest exhibition, DEEPFAKE, showcases a unique perspective on identity, focusing on individuals who have embraced the art of impersonation. Over a span of two years, Malinowski photographed subjects in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, revealing the transformations they undergo in their quest to become someone else. The exhibit is currently on display at Carriageworks and will run until September 6 as part of Sydney Contemporary.
