Chris Wright, the US energy secretary, has firmly rejected allegations that the United States aims to seize Venezuelan oil resources, describing recent agreements as a “transformation” of bilateral relations rather than an aggressive takeover.
In response to inquiries about the nature of the US’s dealings with Venezuela, Wright stated unequivocally, “Absolutely not,” dismissing concerns that the US is pursuing a forceful approach to acquire oil in contravention of Venezuela’s constitutional rights.
