In a significant move reflecting his pivotal role at Apple, Tim Cook has agreed to a compensation package worth $47 million as he transitions to the role of executive chair. This remuneration closely approaches the $58 million awarded to his successor, John Ternus, who has recently stepped into the role of CEO at the tech giant valued at $4.7 trillion.
The package includes a base salary of $2 million alongside an impressive $45 million in shares. Notably, Cook’s share allocation is tied to performance metrics, with half contingent on the achievement of specific targets, while the other half will be distributed over the next four years.
This strategic financial arrangement underscores Cook’s lasting influence within the company, even as he passes the reins to Ternus.
