Following a heated men’s 1500m Diamond League final, double Olympic champion Jakob Ingebrigtsen has softened his remarks about his competitors. Initially branding them as “losers” and “a bunch of cowards,” Ingebrigtsen has now issued a partial apology for his outburst.
Despite the retraction, Ingebrigtsen stands by his criticism of Olympic 1500m champion Cole Hocker, accusing him of cowardice for requesting a fast pace yet opting to hide behind other runners during the race after introducing his own pacemaker.
